Data Science Timeline

The proper course of the future prediction of Data Science is to study the history and present condition of the science. Let us start from the history. It would be better to have the timeline than a lot of text, as for me. Building this timeline about data science, I hoped that it helps to understand where we are coming from and where we are going.

Obviously, the timeline cannot be entirely full, so if you think that I missed a significant point, please let me know. I have combined the history of data science with some developments in computer science, machine learning, deep learning, data analysis and data mining.

The basic mathematical apparatus of Data Science was developed in the previous century. This field is not new at all and knew the bright flashes that then turned into decades of “failures and humiliations” and the contempt of skeptics, but with amazing things in recent decades.
