I am writing this article at the request of my friend Lucy who asked for my advice on bedroom designing.

Here I’ll be sharing design ideas for a square shaped room as Lucy’s room plan is squared shape. She emailed me her room’s photo, and according to the picture, I made a room plan by using AutoCAD.

The above photo is exactly how Lucy’s room look. She has the cream white colored walls and wooden flooring. As her room has only one window, so the above furniture placement idea can aid in making the room look fetching.

Below I’ll be sharing designs that I love and get my inspiration from. I’ll be sharing the furniture type suitable for Lucy’s room.

So let’s get started!

Bed Design

The below photo is the one I selected for Lucy, as it goes with the color of the walls and her floor. If the walls are dark in color, then choose furniture in a lighter shade to complement the darkness and vice versa. As Lucy’s walls are cream white colored, this bed design will go well with the walls. Further, I recommended her of pasting a wallpaper behind the bed.

Table Lamp

This table lamp design looks very attractive. I recommended Lucy of buying the lamps that look like this one as it will perfectly match the room’s layout.

Closet Designs

This closet will look really good with dark brown boundary lines and frame for Lucy’s room. As her bed is of a darker shade and has cream white colored walls, so this closet will complement the rest of the furniture.

Study Table

A similar furniture style with same color coordination as shown in below will be best for Lucy’s room.

Book Shelf

I selected this bookshelf design with exactly the same color for Lucy as it blends well with the stuff placed in the room.

Couch

As the rest of the furniture is dark in color, so I recommended Lucy of placing this creamed color couch in the room as it will make the room look subtle and will match the closet as well.

Cozy Corner

When I talked to Lucy, she wanted a space in the room where she could relax and read a book with a cup of coffee. This gave me an idea of having a cozy corner in the room. I selected a place next to the entrance door against the window. Hanging chair with wall art and a side table will look elegant. I sent her the two photos shown below as they will look eye-catching.

Lucy really loved my ideas and is working on implementing them.
