Gentle Parenting and Cancer

I am a gentle mother.

I come by it honestly. My mom is a gentle mother. So was her mother, my Grandma. I am mothering again now, and this time I must be gentle with myself.

Mothering is a privilege. Somehow, I was chosen. To walk with my kids from before their beginning and protect them as they traverse this arduous terrain that is life. I give them all that I have of me, and in turn I get to know these very special human beings, to be close to them, nurture them. So, I parent them gently.
